I have spoken to quite a few clients and I have found that most people don't understand their coverage; they simply pay the bill and move on. Not realizing just how much money they could save on their Selinsgrove auto insurance bill. I will go over 6 different ways to reduce your car insurance premiums.

1. Ask About Discounts for Safety Features

Many companies offer discounts for various safety features on your vehicle, including air bags, alarms, factory-installed mechanical seatbelts and antilock brakes. In getting updated auto insurance quotes, be sure to indicate such safety features to benefit from available discounts.

2. Drive Less - Pay Less

Don't drive a lot? If you are putting low mileage on your car each year, then you may be entitled to a discount. So if you don't do a lot of commuting or if you have switched to a car pool, then check whether your policy premiums can be reduced.

3. Pay your Premiums in Full

If you pay in installments then you are likely incurring an additional administrative fee. But if you pay the premium all at once you save those fees. The Erie insurance company is once such carrier that offers a discount for paying your premium in full, or the first three month. They also have a monthly plan with no additional service fees. Please ask us for more information.

4. Look for Multi-policy Discounts

The most under recognized car insurance discount results from the multi-policy discount: When buying your Selinsgrove auto insurance, you should also purchase your homeowners policy from the same insurance company. According to the Insurance Information Institute, a multi-line policy can save you up to 15% on both premiums. Some companies like Erie Insurance also provide a life insurance discount.

5. Don't Overpay for Your Unnecessary Coverage

You may be paying for coverage that you donĂ¢€™t need. For example, you may have uninsured and under insured motorist coverage on your auto policy that is stacked. This means if you have two cars you double the coverage, three cars you triple. But after a review of your policy with one of our professional agents you may benefit from un-stacking that coverage. If you had two cars at one time and now only have one then stacking would not benefit you and your overpaying for that coverage.

6. Some Regions Pay Less

The February 2007 article in the Insurance Journal magazine listed 50 top Super Regional Insurance Carriers. These are companies who specialize in just a few areas in the country. Anytime you can get any company to specialize in a small nitch group or area you know you are going to come out with the best price available. We just happen to sell for two of these Super Regional Carriers and would be more than happy to shop your Selinsgrove Auto Insurance with both of these carriers.
